Know Your CBD Rights
The miracle of this natural relief brought along a surge in demand for CBD in the Economy. However, the regular purchase and consumption of CBD is still a relatively new concept for many of the general population.
It is more important now than ever to educate yourself on your CBD rights and regulations so you can enjoy CBD safely and worry free.
Is it Legal?
As of now, all Hemp Derived CBD products are available for consumption to anyone in the United States that is over the age of 18.
CBD can derive from both the Hemp plant and the Marijuana plant.
Federally, if your CBD comes from the Hemp Plant, it is legal (as the Hemp plant cannot legally contain more than .3 percent THC)
However, if your CBD comes from the marijuana plant, it is illegal. As marijuana is federally prohibited by the DEA
Though some states may not recognize CBD as a legal substance it is still illegal for any state or local government agency to seize your CBD if it is hemp-derived; and they cannot take any legal action against you.
CBD vs THC
Physically, it is nearly impossible to tell a hemp plant apart from the marijuana plant. We must take a look at the chemical profiles to distinguish these two plants.
(Then maybe have a picture of the two plants and their chemical diagrams)
How THC can sneak into your CBD bottle
Both THC and CBD are members of a chemical family called cannabinoids. There is only a few chemical bonds that separate THC from CBD. Due to pollination, a hemp crop can start off purely making CBD and then unknowingly turn into a THC crop if two Hemp Plants hookup.
This sounds crazy but it’s true. Dormant male genes in the hemp plant are able to create THC, thus the market of CBD products can sometimes be flooded with products that contain THC. That is why it is so important that you make sure your products are third-party lab certified and contain what they say they do, so you know exactly what is going into your CBD.
